If who ever made the DVD played it for her, what kind of player or hardware did that person play it on ? Some DVD players are pretty sensitive as to what type of media they will play, but most newer DVD players will play DVD +/- media. I would like to recover this disk for my friend. My system is an HP Pavilion dv6000 running Vista with an Optiarc DVD RW AD-7530A drive. I tried to "finalize" the disc which resulted in exception message "Please insert an appendable data disc that is cd media or dvd write-once media." I tried to get an iso file but the tool did not allow a save to the ISO format. Neither Pinnacle nor MyDVD would import froman sgi file. Using the copy tool, I was able to copy dvd images to my hard drive in the Sonic Global Image (sgi) format. There are 9 zones and a total of 2.5Gb is used. However, Roxio Easy Media Creator tools show the following disc information: DVD-R, Closed, Multiborder, Data. Windows Explorer shows the disk as empty, and I do not see any Video_ts folder that I would expect. The dvd disc is not recognized by my machine either. When she returned it would not play on her DVD player or on her computer. Someone on the cruise created a DVD for her and played it for her. A friend had her dance recorded while on a cruise.
